CHOP, STIR, & CLICK!

I've been journaling more lately, thus why I haven't blogged as often as I would like.  It's like I exasperate all my mental and emotional energy while journaling leaving nothing to blog about.  Ok...so I guess that's an exaggeration but still....

So, lately, I have been cooking a lot, trying new dishes here and there.  Pretzel-making has been my latest endeavor.  Next adventure will be the traditional South Carolina boiled peanuts (recipe courtesy of Mama Troutman, my dear friend Laura Troutman's proud parent)!!  Words can't express how excited I am about those tasty treats!  They are definitely an acquired taste, but I think they are delicious.  I'll let you know how it goes.

I've also been taking a lot of pictures.  I'm still entering photos into the "Colors of Summer" contest; I've done green, blue, yellow, red, and orange.  I'm on week 6, and the color is pink; next week is purple.  I've recruited Brooke to help me come up with some creative pink and purple-inspired photographs.

I'm neither a chef nor professional photographer.  I just really enjoy both of these activities so much!  I find they are good for my soul.  As I'm going through the annoying and emotionally exhausting process of finding a job, cooking and taking pictures are great outlets away from resumes, applications, cover letters, interviews, and rejections.  They are also relaxing--most of the time--activities that allow me to exercise my creativity.  Plus my roomies (Brooke & Garrett) get to reap the delicious, lovely benefits!

Here are some recent pictures bringing the two hobbies together: food and photos:
