This Better Be Worth It!

For the past three nights I have been up late reading, studying, and memorizing--well, trying to--English grammar, teaching methods/techniques, classroom organization, levels of learners, lesson plans, more grammar, phonetics, how to teach grammar, how to teach vocabulary, and blah BLAH BLAH! AH!! My brain is fried.

I have been getting Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certified through a class online. I started in September...and...well...kind of waited until the last minute to take the test. I had until March 1, today. I took the test yesterday. It was exhausting! It was 21 pages of excruciating pain. I had to complete this test within 24-hours of the time I received it. I worked on this test from 12am to 1am the night/morning I received it, then the next from 9am to 12:30am (yes, a.m.), with only an hour break for lunch and a two-hour support appointment. In all that time, you'd think I finished the test. Well, you'd be wrong. THUS making the test even more ridiculous! I had to turn it in, though, with hopes that what I did will get me a passing score to get my certificate. By 1am I thought I had lost my mind...too much staring at a computer? Maybe. No sleep for three days? Possibly. Too much indepth thought about grammar and other aspects of the English language? YES!!!

I'll let you know the results. I should know in a couple days. In the meantime I will be sleeping and not thinking or talking because that involves English.

Then I would definitely have to shoot myself to put me out of my misery. :-)

wow. I just read through the posts on this page, but they are all so encouraging! I definitely need to make a habit of coming to your blog. It's going on my favorites tool bar right after I finish this comment.

Thanks for having coffee with me yesterday! I miss having those times with you. I also wanted to let you know that I got the all summer staff position at camp! The camp director asked me a bunch of questions then told me that I got the job. After I hung up the phone, I screamed! I am really excited.

I love you, Brittney! I am praying for you - I know that God will provide in His timing. Sometimes it's not so hard to trust Him when we know what will happen in the end, it's just hard waiting for it and understanding HOW it will happen.

Ick! Not fun!! I was even an English major, and grammar does NOT curl my toes with glee by any stretch of the imagination. I hope your poor, fried brain has recovered (if not from the grammar, from the fighting off the illness of death)!

Well, no wonder you are sick now, I get sick in situations like that too. Sheesh. Get some more rest.

Look everybody, I commented. Soon I will be a full contributing member of this internet society.
