ONE MUFFIN FOR MAN...ONE GIANT LOAF FOR MANKIND

I really like to cook for people, especially bake. Before I came to Ukraine I was a baking fool, making tons of different kinds of breads: apple-cinnamon, mixed berry, chocolate-chocolate chip, banana nut, orange cranberry, etc. They were some good eatin. Well, I missed this bread, so I decided to make some last week. Success! I made apple-cinnamon and mixed berry (muffins rather than the loaf). Tasty treats for all to enjoy.

Today I had a language lesson. My teacher always has tea when she comes, and today I decided to offer her two of my muffins to complement her tea. She loved them! They're all she could talk about (in Ukrainian, as she doesn't speak much English) for most of the hour and a half she was at my apartment! Needless to say, I learned a lot of ingredients and baking terms today in my lesson. She was so surprised that I had made them myself and now wants the recipe. Who knew muffins could bring us closer together. Next week it's chocolate-chocolate chip.

Baking...breaking the language barrier one muffin at a time.
