A Great Weekend

Here are some pictures from our trip to Kyiv for Passion. Jay and I took two girls from the youth group and one guy who's a friend from past camps. It was a long trip with many unknowns, but we had a great time on our adventure.

We're HERE!

We really are excited even though it may not look like it.

We could not find anywhere to stay in Kyiv, so we stayed with one of the girl's friends who lived in a village basically in the middle of no where an hour out of Kyiv. We got in around 12:30am, and the extremely hospitable woman of the house had dinner ready for us. We were so blessed! It was an adventure driving out there, taking wrong turns, driving into the unknown...at the end of it all it was so fun and such a blessing to have met these people.

On our way back home we stopped to have a picnic. It was a beautiful location, but it started to rain. So we ended up under the bridge. Jay and Eugene built the fire for our shashlik (meat/pork skewers).

It was a fun, tastey picnic!

Jay actually does have a portable table that he carries around. Though, he did plan the picnic before hand, so he prolly doesn't carry it around ALL the time. And, yes, we had chairs as well. It was fun. I ate grass! The girls gave it to me to try, and it tasted like kiwi.
