Never Have I Ever

"The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overrflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever." Psalm 23

Have you ever just read the Word and it says something totally different to you than it did the last time you read it? That happens to me a lot. Whether I'm just skimming over a chapter or looking for something specific, I see things differently each time. They impact me in so many different ways. I love this. My friend Mike and I were talking about this the other night. We talked about how one day what you're reading is good stuff, and the next it is life-changing, and the next it is just good stuff again. Like that verse was there for you that day and was so powerful when you need it the most. Even if it's the exact same verse...depending on the day, the situation, the complexity of life, God tells you something different from it the next time you read, then the next. Then we sit back and wonder why we don't read the Bible more often. God knows my heart and knows what I need. Amen.
