hey...yeah i didn't hear his benediction, but from what you posted it sounded ridiculous...but Rick Warren's prayer was fantastic! if you didn't hear it, find it on youtube. i was so glad that he didn't hold back, and that he was bold.

He did! I heard it and all the media wanted to do was talk about Rick Warren saying the name of Jesus in 4 languages.

He Really did say it!! I was watching it live on the net, from my village in the Chernivtsi oblast. My whole family and I died laughing!!!
my question is Are half the things he called people of color in that prayer not racist?? i mean, isn't the whole basis of that prayer about getting rid of the race barrier, yet he says things like "red man" and "yellow". i mean, i'm white and all, and not sure, but those sound a little politically incorrect to me.
that is a quote from a civil rights chant or something.... familiar to many african americans...(i think). although...i don't think it excuses it being said in that way at that time. it seems like a step back in time to me. but...i don't know much. i keep my mouth mostly shut upon these matters.
I thought he was just trying to encourage whites to leave the leftist Democratic party and join the right wing. Maybe he was referring to the fact that Bull Connor was a Democrat?
